oh my GOD the new Nightwish album is shite. YOU ARE SO NOT ALONE, BRO. the puzzling thing is, it got so many good reviews o.O
I know! It was being raved over on the Amazon page =| I mean, it’s not the worst thing I’ve ever listened to, but I like some of the Tarja-era stuff...

If you’re disappointed, I could rec you some much better Finnish metal that I’m almost sure would have a harder sound…. XD /annoying comment I’m sure you didn’t want, so just ignore me if you want, heh
Throw it at me~ ^^
Also, you’re not annoying, so quit being so self-deprecating! *pokes*

I didn’t know you listened to metal/symphonic rock! I just find that totally cool, lol.
Yep! It’s my favorite musical genre, actually (unless you count video game soundtracks, which probably aren’t their own genre). ^^ Within Temptation is my favorite band, followed by Nightwish. I just...

Not overly fond of the new Nightwish album so far. I liked Dark Passion Play a lot better - it had a harder sound to it, as opposed to Imaginaerum’s slower, more atmospheric/folk vibe. I’ll give it a little while before I make a final decision, but so far I’m kinda disappointed. Ah well.

I can still watch the Colbert Report and be amused, but the Daily Show tends to present things in a slightly more serious light/talk about more soul-crushing subjects, at least from my point of view.

Ah, watching the Daily Show is how I cope with it. Sometimes it’s depressing still, yes, but it’s just relieving to see there are people willing to laugh along with it. … if only Canada weren’t so cold. XD

I really need to stop reading things that are related to politics in my country
because it kills me a little bit inside every time
even watching the Daily Show makes me wanna cry sometimes
and it’s just… ugh can’t handle it
is Canada better? Because I think maybe I should move or something

Outer Solar System Soldiers
dumplingheadcanon:
Sailor Saturn’s association with the Outer Solar Systems Soldiers is only a result of her adoption by them in her current life. Saturn originally functioned as a part of the Moon Princess’ court with Mercury, Venus, Mars, and Jupiter; this is based on the fact that these planets have been known since antiquity. Queen Serenity eventually charged Saturn with the duty of acting...

Why, hello, dear!
Hello! I just found Domina Esques on the fic rec page of TVTropes, and marathon-read it over two days - I couldn’t put it down! I adore your characterization of Lizzy, and your writing style. ^^ Not to mention the plot, which fits in so perfectly with the world created in the manga.
I’m actually very new to the...

Why Mass Effect is the Most Important Science... →
This article is ungodly long, but so fascinating. It discusses a variety of things, from humanity’s marginalization and minority status in the ME universe to the relationship between ME’s philosophy and HP Lovecraft. It’s deep and involved and probably not for the faint of heart, but it reminded me of the biggest and most important reason of why I love the the Mass Effect series:...

When Worlds Collide: Fandom and Male Privilege
veliseraptor:
“The first is that true gender equality is actually perceived as inequality. A group that is made up of 50% women is perceived as being mostly women. A situation that is perfectly equal between men and women is perceived as being biased in favor of women. And if you don’t believe me, you’ve never been a married woman who kept her family name. I have had students hold that up as...

The character I love that everyone else hates 5. The character I used to love but don’t any longer 6. The character I would totally smooch 7. The character I’d want to be like 8. The character I’d slap 9. A pairing that I love 10. A...

But I don’t really see a reason with a day celebrating love. While I don’t need a reason to have a nice evening with my husband, V-Day is just one of those days that reminds me to slow down and enjoy time with him, even if I have a test the next day.
Also, our Valentine’s Day traditions are really nerdy. This year we went to Barnes and Noble + GameStop. I got him Twisted Metal...
